Not to jinx it, but we're rolling into March reaching for our umbrellas instead of shovels.

No one is looking to tempt the Fates and conjure the chaos of the infamous Blizzard of '78, but our collective Bostonian heartiness seems to benefit from an annual pummeling of cold and snow. Nonetheless, we're entering the city's favorite holiday season, St. Paddy's Day. While most folks only begin to stock up on shamrocks and green gear this time of year, we live that life on the daily.

Serendipitously, less snow makes it easier to get around town for Boston's St. Patrick's Day events, newest speakeasy shenanigans, and Kascade shows. Plus, those craving the cold can escape to the Bruins' practice arena or hit up some gnarly slopes for skiing and snowboarding in New England. Whether you explore date ideas in Boston or go all in on St. Paddy's Day, here's everything to do in Boston this month.

New Late Night Social Hour

Blue Ribbon Brasserie opened in December, and they're already shaking things up with their newly launched Late Night Social Hour, designed for vibey hangs from 10 pm to midnight. The beer selection is nearly 30 deep, between cans, bottles, and draft, and the cocktails, like the Southie Sling, are layered with complexity and are downright tasty. The oysters and burgers are half-price during Late Night Social Hour, and the brisket-rich Oxburger is blissful with a fried egg and oxtail marmalade. The Dr. Jones cocktail and its chamomile tea bourbon are the go-to prescription for a late-night refresh.

New Speakeasy Blind Duck

Don’t miss the opportunity to experience Boston’s newest speakeasy, Blind Duck—-that is, if you can find the entrance. With a hint of detective work in the Raffles Boston's Sky Lobby, you'll find yourself in a beautiful two-story hideaway overlooking the Back Bay. If you've already deduced the little homage to Boston's beloved duck statues à la Make Way for Ducklings, you're definitely up to the task of getting in. Once there, treat yourself to the Jack, Kack, and Lack cocktail with duck fat-washed bourbon paired with bites like Smoked Onion Dip and Yukon Gold potato chips.

Bruins and Brunch at Worden Hall

Worden Hall is a South Boston riff on the Saratoga, NY, horse-racing scene named for a famous 19th-century guest house, Worden Hotel. Expect chill lighting, exposed brick, tufted leather, and a respectable number of TVs. A hearty brunch menu also awaits, available on weekends from 10 am to 3:30 pm. If you time it just right, on March 9, you can arrive for an early afternoon brunch and finish your last bites as the Bruins take the ice at 3 pm against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Rock & Skate at Warrior Ice Arena

Friday nights are pure rock and roll magic at Warrior Ice Arena, where they clear the ice for a live DJ set and public open skate session. Bring your skates or rent a pair for $6 and show off your best moves. Located at Boston Landing, the arena is close to Broken Records Beer Hall, so make a night of it and grab some brews after. Warrior Ice Arena is also where The Bruins practice, and they're open to the public and free. You're welcome.

Watch the Celtics on St Paddy's Day

Their mascot is a leprechaun, so (obviously) the Celtics will go hard on St. Paddy's Day. It's up for debate whether the fans or the players will be more exhausted the day after, but one thing is guaranteed: all the TVs in Boston’s Irish pubs will be showing the March 17 game against the Washington Wizards. Among Boston's best Irish pubs, you can't go wrong with Mr. Dooley's or J.J. Foley's Cafe. J.J Foley's burgers are game day grub personified, and Dooley's puts a Boston spin on the Irish classic, Bangers and Mash, with a layer of baked beans.

Dropkick Murphys

You're also sure to find plenty of Dropkick Murphys tats in the mix, since they're more Boston than the band literally named Boston. The Celtic punk band started in Quincy in '96, and we've been mosh-pit swooning ever since. See them perform Shipping Off to Boston live at MGM Music Hall at Fenway during the Dropkick Murphys St. Patrick's Day Tour. Celebrate St. Paddy's on Lansdowne by day, then top it off with a raucous round of Rose Tattoo by night.

Kascade 21+ Show

Fresh off his gig as the first ever in-game Super Bowl DJ, Kascade is in town. The grammy-nominated Chicago DJ and producer, who was also the first DJ to score a Las Vegas residency in 2010, is set to light it up at Big Night Live. He’s making his way through town—Mémoire and The Grand Boston, March 6 and 8, respectively—and finishes with a bass-booming finale at Big Night Live, March 9.

Live Shows at Bebop Music Pub

Music's on tap at the Bebop and flows freely seven days a week. From Country Open Mic nights to weekly open jam sessions, this genre-free music hub features artists like traditional Irish fiddlers and up-and-coming Berklee student artists. You'll have a stellar music experience, but you can also drum up a pretty delish meal. They offer lunch and dinner daily, plus weekend brunch from 9 am–3 pm. The lunch menu alone has nearly 30 options for under $20, and they recently added a new Purple Rain cocktail with vodka and elderflower liqueur.

Cher's recent appearance on Chicken Shop Date proves something we’ve always known—she's the GOAT. MFA's Hallyu! The Korean Wave

From K-pop to Squid Game, the cultural landscape is abuzz with Korean influence, and the MFA's latest exhibit provides the incredible backstory. On the heels of the occupation by Japan and the Korean War, the country revived itself through innovation, technology, and a deluge of creativity in artistry—from film to fashion and beyond. This collective resurgence, known as the Korean Wave, or Hallyu, put Korean creation at the forefront of global culture, and this exhibit captures that with nearly 250 curated objects, like dresses from Minju Kim of Next in Fashion fame, traditional embroidery, and pop culture ephemera.

Screening of The Myth of the Black Woman

Artist Nadege Tessono Okotie joins the French Library for a screening of her feature-length documentary, The Myth of the Black Woman. The film details centuries-old societal perceptions and images of Black women—from the Jezebel figure to the passive Nanny. The film also features highly accomplished Black women who share how these images have endured, giving real-life examples from their experiences. All this is interspersed with newly shared archival footage and expert analysis. The evening will conclude with a post-film discussion with the filmmaker herself.

Enjoy free admission to the Day Lark Bazaar at Lady of Lizard. If that seems like a funky sentence, imagine how cool the vibe will be—vintage clothing, art, jewelry, and makers' delights. Kintsugi Pottery Workshop
